Andreea Mitu qualifies for semi-finals of ITF tournament in Prerov
Romanian tennis player Andreea Mitu qualified on Friday for the semi-finals of the ITF tournament in Prerov (Czech Republic), with a total prize money of USD 60,000, after a three-set victory over Czech Dominika Salkova, 6-3, 1-6, 6-4, told Agerpres.
Mitu (31, WTA’s 535th), who came from the qualifiers, won after two hours and 12 minutes.
Andreea Mitu, who committed 10 double faults, led 3-1 in the deciding set and Salkova had a 4-1 lead but came back to win 6-4.
Mitu had beaten Salkova (19, WTA’s 352nd) in April in Chiasso in the first round 6-4, 6-1.
In the penultimate round, Andreea Mitu will face young Serbian player Mia Ristic (17, WTA’s 415th).
