ForMin Odobescu: We will continue to support and promote solid partnerships and relationships
Romanian diplomacy will continue to support and promote „solid partnerships and relationships based on democratic values, respect for fundamental rights and freedoms, international law and the rules-based international order,” Foreign Minister Luminita Odobescu said on Friday, told Agerpres.
Her message marks Romanian Diplomacy Day, celebrated „in a difficult and complex regional context, which, together with accelerated global developments, requires more than ever a predictable, coherent, adapted, dynamic and anticipatory foreign policy.”
„We are all part of a European and Euro-Atlantic system of security and values. Through the means of diplomacy, we contribute to ensuring the security and well-being of Romanian citizens, but also the safety and prosperity of our allies and partners,” said Odobescu.
She also mentioned the priorities of Romanian diplomacy.
„Starting from the three essential pillars of our foreign policy – increasing the role and influence of our country inside the European Union and the North Atlantic Alliance, developing and deepening the strategic partnership with the United States of America, we will continue to reach objectives, adapting to the new realities generated by the difficult international context. We will not neglect the development of consular services for Romanian citizens outside the country’s borders, whose partnership in this process is essential for us,” said Odobescu.
She added that „a good diplomat is the one who strongly believes in his or her mission and dedicates himself or herself to its accomplishment day by day, with responsibility and high professionalism, and also with enthusiasm.”
